Paradise Zanzibar - Slide Show

SJCS Zanzibar Daily Mail - Saturday 29th September 2007.

Nothing to Report today.

If you have a spare moment, here are some old holiday snaps of Paradise Zanzibar. Click on the link below titled Benito & Betty in Paradise Zanzibar.

Dear Members

Today is Saturday and I have no gig so decided to do a little tidy up job in my music studio, and whilst doing so, I came across some old holiday photos of Zanzibar and as such have decided to post for quick viewing for those interested. The photos are in random order.

I have taken unlimited video of Zanzibar and in the near future I will capture some shots and release for our Zanzibar lovers just to bring back some sweet memories of our beautiful spice island.

Zanzibar is just a dream and soon after SJCS Goa Reunion 2008, we must target for Paradise.

Love and best wishes

Dear Dima

Thank you for your kind message re "Welcome drink" and on behalf of our SJCS Goa Reunion managing committee, I wish to thank you and Marriott management for kindly offering our members a Complimentary drink on arrival. This will be a real treat as we have invited our guests to arrive early to watch the fantastic sunset as recommended by you.

By the way, our committee have also agreed to include a good cabaret act on the night. Appreciate if you can provide any suggestions.

I was very impressed with the Rope Dances and their dancing routines which I was fortunate to see at the BMX events early this year. Any good suggestions welcome and equally if you could provide the charges as a guideline.

Once again please accept our grateful thanks and without any doubt, we are all looking forward to meeting up and celebrating taking note that our main highlight event is the Grand Gala Dance at the Marriott Hotel.

Yours sincerely
Benny de Souza

Benny - You have done us proud. Thanks for securing this wonderful starter to our dinner/dance, which will be most appreciated. Let's hope we can get a good cabaret act to further improve our main event.

SJCS ZANZIBAR SOUVENIR BOOKLET

Dear SJCS Members

(Please note this posting has been released after obtaining permission from Janet Fernandes).

As we all know, we have had a few good high profile SPORTSMEN in ZANZIBAR and amongst one of the very best was the late Tommy Fernandes who was an all-round champion right from sprinting, football, hockey and cricket.

We all know how famous Tommy was with his great SOGAS (jokes) and as such we would love to add some of his jokes in the Souvenir booklet plus some of his sporting photographs.

Dear members, if you remember some of Tommy’s Sogas, please oblige and forward to Joe de Lord. Also if you have photographs, please forward ASAP.

Some of us Cable & Wireless guys have some real sweet memories so all you guys we look forward to your contribution.

Janet says, in some cases we should not use names of parties connected to the jokes. This we will honoured.

Another name that stands out is our famous GOALKEEPER who represented Zanzibar on several occasions. He does not need any introduction but for sure we can remember one of the wonderful Goalie’s dive which was spectacular - a touch of DELAYED ACTION. Dived after the ball went into the net. (If Agnel was in London, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea would be fighting to sign him on).

The sensational photograph was in the newspapers – only wish we had a copy so if any of you have some photographs of our champion goalie AGNEL DE SILVA, please forward to Joe De Lord. Agnel was also a very good hockey player so all photos appreciated.

Let’s not miss out on the good Sports Ladies so all postings welcome as we want a sports column in the Souvenir booklet.

P.S. Just a few weeks ago I met up with Janet at Tony and Shirley de Lords home and you will never believe this. Janet entertained us with some great jokes where I was in stitches. I never laughed so much, and talk of Tommy’s jokes, Janet could fall in line. All good sogas (jokes) welcome especially those connected with Tommy Fernandes our all-round sportsman.

Folks – Do not miss out with your personal posting for the Souvenir.

Many thanks.

Benito

GOA REUNION - REGISTRATION

www.sjcszanzibar-reunions.com
http://sjcsgoareunion-whatsnew.blogspot.com/
http://sjcszanzibar.blogspot.com/

Dear Members, Guests & Relative

Time is moving on and we still have much more to plan to help make your Reunion & Goa holiday very special. To date, our 6 main EVENTS are fully in place and all we have to do is continue to pay the MONTHLY installments to our Vendors in Goa, as such your registration is important. Please oblige and make your payments as soon as possible.

Coach Tours and Transport to be arranged.

As you know we are planning a couple of Coach Tours, as such we need to know who would be interested. Astrid & Lea will soon be providing a couple of tours for your choice, one may be visiting Old Goa, seeing churches and temples etc. As soon as this has been confirmed, you will be advised.

Transport for 3 main EVENTS.

To help members and guests to get to the Dinner dance at the Marriott, the Boat Cruise and the Picnic, we need to know who would be interested in transport. We will have 3/4 planned stops on route so again this will be based on first come first serve basis and we must have the names of those interested made available by the 15th. November 2007.

Database.

We plan to set up a database on SJCSZanzibar to allow you to enter your names for the Coach Tours and for those who want transport for the above functions. This will be available in a couple of days time after I get the GO Ahead from JO.

Please note - Astrid has set up a very professional database where she has records of every member who has registered and other important information. You are welcome to forward your requests to Astrid directly prior to the database being set up.

Table arrangements at the Dinner Dance.

Some members have already sent Astrid their request for their tables (10 per table). Only members who have registered can apply. Again such requests must be sent directly to Astrid.
Preference of seating will be based on first come first serve. E.G. You can request for a table up front by the stage, in the middle of the hall, at the back etc. I have requested for a table plan from the Marriott and once received, I will provide for your viewing.

We have decided to name each table by number and name. Hoping we have 300 attending, we will have 15 tables with names of Zanzibar main streets, villages and main places of interest. The other 15 tables will have towns of Goa, e.g. Calangute, Mapusa, Candolim, Panjim etc etc.

Hope the table names meet your approval. I will try and find photographs to match each table.

SJCS Souvenir Booklet.

As we have mentioned before, the Souvenir booklet is going to be very special so please get your postings off to Joe de Lord as soon as possible.

In an effort to meet the printing costs, we are allowing members to post adverts of their businesses etc. If you have a property to let in Goa or elsewhere, why not advertise it. We are happy to accept all adverts and for which there will be a cost to help towards our printing.

You can have a full page, half page or quarter page. We cannot give you a cost for printing your adverts right away but should we get many, we will divide the costs. All other postings outside pesonal businesses are free.

The souvenir booklet will be printed in Goa so the deadline for your posting is 15th November 2007. Dont miss out.

Further information on the Souvenir Booklet will follow shortly. Watch the space.

CONCLUSION.

Daily Mail blog.

We will post information on the SJCS Zanzibar - Daily Mail blog with any information we may have. Members can provide comments directly to the blog page so feel free to say what you wish. COMMENTS most welcome. See bottom of the blog page and click on comments.
